When you go to a SOLD OUT show for Brian Fallon, you know it’s going to be epic; full of stories for your co-workers for the next day. He did not disappoint, as Brian Fallon and the Howling Weather took over the Danforth Music Hall for another amazing performance, in support of his latest solo record, Sleepwalkers.
Shedding his Gaslight Anthem-pals for this last few solo efforts, Fallon can really hold his own as a solo performer. His latest album, Sleepwalkers, is full of moodiness and dark tones, but Fallon gracefully takes each track to a higher level with his strong performance. Also, who knew he was so charismatic? Between songs, Fallon would address the crowd, and many cheers and laughs would follow his every word. Even though we were surrounded by 1,200 people, his tone made you feel as if you were sitting in on a living room-show. Playing a stripped down version of The Gaslight Anthem’s “The ‘59 Sound” on piano was a big highlight for those in attendance, as the subtleties of the lyrics really shined. Safe to say, if Brian Fallon comes back to Toronto, you better get them quick before they are SOLD-OUT!
