Weekly survey: If you could relive a personal music experience, what would it be?

This week’s survey question is one of those that can’t possibly have a wrong answer. If you could go back and relieve a personal musical experience, what would it be?

This will date me, but I wish I could go back to August 5, 1992, for the Lollapalooza show at Molson Park in Barrie, Ontario, because in retrospect, this was one of the greatest collection of alt-rock bands in one place ever.

The main stage lineup was as follows: Lush, Jesus and Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Ice Cube, Ministry, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I also remember seeing Tool on the side stage alongside Stone Temple Pilots, Cypress Hill, and Porno for Pyros. And I remember the weather being as close to perfect as you could get. Tickets were $25 and you could get return transportation from the Yorkdale Shopping Centre for ten bucks.

Had I know the day was so historic, I’d have paid even more attention than I did. Don’t get me wrong because I was all-in that day. But if I had to do it again, I’d go even deeper into the experience.

What event would you like to experience again? A concert or festival? Some kind of musical encounter? A particularly great summer filled with friends and music? Or maybe you’d like to go back and re-do a whole year.

Be wistful in the comment section below.
