Toronto Emergency Services says a 69-year-old man has died following a collision on Highway 407.
In a tweet sent out Wednesday evening, Ontario Provincial Police said the collision occurred on the eastbound side of the 407 near Keele Street.
A OPP spokesperson told Global News it was a two-vehicle collision between a mini van and a car. They said one person was sent to hospital in critical condition.
Later in the evening, OPP spokesperson Kerry Schmidt tweeted the 69-year-old man had succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The roadway is closed following patient assessment and investigation. All traffic is being diverted onto Highway 400.
Paramedics said they had six transport units at the scene.
