2003 was a different time. The Rolling Stones headlined SARSSstock. Chrétien was Prime Minister. McDonald’s started serving salad.
In October of that year, Jack Black introduced the world to Dewey Finn, a down-and-out singer who steals a substitute teacher’s identity to profit off a preteen rock band. Creepy? Yes. Heartwarming? Also yes.
For the 15-year anniversary of the film, Black held a reunion of sorts. During a Tenacious D show (his actual band) in Chicago Tuesday night, he invited onstage one of his former co-stars: Kevin Clark, who plays Freddy.
By the way: School of Rock is currently streaming on Netflix (you’re welcome).
