North America was kinda late to Muse. Even as they were playing arenas and stadiums in the UK, Europe and Asia, they were still playing clubs when they came to this side of the world. I remember sitting with the band in full view in a sushi restaurant in downtown Toronto, something that really freaked them out. No one knew who they were or cared that a giant European rock band was in their midst. This clearly was something they weren’t used to.
“This must be kinda relaxing not having to worry about being mobbed in public,” I said to Matt Bellamy.
He picked at his dragon roll in a desultory way. “No,” he replied. “This just reminds us that we have to try harder.”
So they did. And now they’re huge here, too. This program digs into ten things about the band of which you may not have been aware.
Here’s a tracklisting from the program, all by Muse, of course.
Knights of Cydonia
Time Is Running Out
Do We Need This
Supermassive Black Hole
Neutron Star Collision
Here’s the playlist from Eric Wilhite if you want to listen along.
