James Hetfield of Metallica has a role in the new Ted Bundy biopic

Outside of being at the forefront of one of metal’s most popular band, Metallica’s James Hetfield has a quiet film career that is continuing to bud. Obviously Hetfield had starred in Some Kind of Monster, but he will now take on a role in Joe Berlinger’s biopic of Ted Bundy’s life and crimes.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will star Zac Efron as Bundy and Lily Collins as Bundy’s girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer.

Hetfield will play a Utah highway patrol officer named Bob Hayward, who was the first person to arrest Bundy in 1975.

“Having spent hundreds of hours behind the scenes with James and the rest of Metallica, I have experienced his charisma and powerful presence close up. It seemed only natural that he would bring that same power and magnetism to a dramatic role, so when he agreed to my pitch that he be in the movie, I was thrilled,” said Berlinger, who also directed Some Kind of Monster.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is presently in production.
